Now begins the "Blue Wonder" on to flower in all its diversity in my garden. The hot summer, dry weather may like the lavender. I always find amazing how many species there are but alone in my garden! We know about 25 different species of lavender.
In aromatherapy / aroma care we use mainly fine and extra lavender (Lavandula angustifolia ), Spike lavender (Lavandula latifolia ), lavender (Lavandula stoechas ) and Lavandin (Lavandula hybrida ).
In the fields of lavender fine, in about 800 m above sea level, to grow all these colors, everything looks a little disorganized. The soil is dry, rocky and barren, the plants often vary in size and color - from dark purple to blue and sometimes white. This lavender makes its name - it smells very delicate, flowery and soft. It is rich in Esters mainly linalyl acetate and Monoterpenole, the linalool. In this way he gets his soothing, antispasmodic and relaxing effect.
Lavender fine or the lavender is extra as essential oil has a medicine cabinet for themselves if the first assistance funds for burns, insect bites or headache ..... for injuries, skin fungus, high blood pressure, insomnia, bronchitis, ear pain, itching, cramps, and more
In my seminars, I pass a lot of recipes, mostly I am dictating this to my course participants and often I hear: "Lavender is yes in nearly every recipe in it."
The Lavandin, in contrast to the lavender fine a relatively high proportion of camphor and therefore has a more stimulating and if so many ignorant lavender oil buyer surprised that he did not sleep, can but rather to stimulate the night strikes around the ears, then he has unknowingly bought Lavandin. Lavandin is often declared in the oil bottle as lavender and if the botanical name is missing on the label, you know just not exactly what it is lavender!
Here is the little bumble bee very fond of the scent of lavender. The essential oil is often used to repel insects, such as in the closet to repel moths. Also said to have had the lavender a major contribution to stem the plague. The people "perfumed" with lavender essence, this scent was far responsible for the transmission of the rat to humans, fleas!
